Character Name: Polo

Age: 19

Location: Auckland, New Zealand.

What do you do? (Employed/student):

Current student, Bartender by trade - though taking time off work and trying to get into banking :)

What is your played time on this character:

I'm going to have to explain my played time in a bit of detail, so please hear me out :) Before my Shaman i played a Fury Warrior named Louch (did have a stint as arms in BC, early Hyjal, and through some T5 - Old slam rotation was great - and before the armor pen 'CAP' also went through another Arms phase) though have remained Fury most of the way through (Very experienced with tanking, also). I've played that toon since I re-rolled horde at the start of BC and played through most content to starter-mid BT pre-nurf, and through WOTLK to all pre 3.1 content up to and including Sarth 3d (25 man). Recently I RAF level'd this Shaman in intentions of eventually switching this to be my main character - and it happened sooner than expected - i'd always been intrigued by the play style and the similarities between Pre 3.0 Fury and Enhance is amazing. So back to the question this toon has been power geared and unlike my 103 days played on my warrior he has a small 12 days played. Though! He is incredibly geared for the time frame (Full valor, 10 off spell hit cap, 1 off expertise cap) I pull 5k dps on 25 man patch, 5.4k on 10 man KT (Only numbers that pop out atm) i had epic achievement 3 days after 'dinging' to 80, already been into 10 Ulduar up to Mimron and stayed very compeditive (top 1-3 each encounter, with reletivly good players) and i have put in my research and am up to date with the latest Shaman talk around the community.

Totally sorry if that was too long to read.

Please link your Armory profile or list your gear:

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Frostmourne&n=Polo

Gear consists of what I would consider a basic pre Ulduar set up. Not pre 3.1 BiS but very close too it. Am aware that I am missing 20-30 Hit (Have been eating hit food to keep up) and 1 Expertise, but I ran spreadsheets/EnhSim and the trade off from my current stats would have resulted in a DPS loss. My current gems/enchants are all BiS EXCEPT my mongoose on off hand, as I didn't feel putting Zerking on an iLvl 200 off hand was actually needed, backed up by spreadsheeds I am missing out on minimal dps with this enchant. Much like rogues tend to do with non BiS items also.

WWS of previous raiding:

None currently and none still 'up' from anything my Warrior has ran, though my last patchwerk 25 attempt was 5k dps, and 5.4k on XT 10 man. (Again no cold-hard proof but can ask Slynx and he will vouch for the numbers)

Professions:

JC and Tailoring (Dropping Tailoring right now for Leatherworking, so dependant on when you review my app i may or may not have tailoring) Reason for dropping is this toon was originally going to be an alt, and now it is my main I am taking up the current second best (to BSing) profession for my class.

Game Experience - What end game raid experience do you have? You can include pre-bc & other MMO's for our reference also.

Pre BC I had my awesome blues and was back up for a progressing end-game guild on Khaz'goroth. (can't remember name at all) as a Nelf Hunter. Got a shot at MC a couple times but sort of missed the boat as BC was around the corner and most people were settling down waiting for it to drop. Onto BC took a break after I *thought* hunters were severely gimped, and eventually came back to roll an Undead Warrior on FM. Took my time gearing up though and played in progressing T5 guilds as Fury. Went to Blackrock for a bit because i heard they were pro's, then came back as american times we're hard for a school kid. Really didn't learn my class though i'd say untill I hit T5 and started tanking and getting more into the class mechanics as a whole, did remain dps a majority of the time through BC (cleared half of SSc/TK and was apart of those consistantly disbanding guilds rushing to get pre-Nurf bt/hyjal in) and ended my BC experience with mostly pre-sunwell 2is gear including a nice couple s3-s4 pieces which *yes* were great for warrior PVE. WOTLK have cleared all on warrior including sarth 3d, 25 man. Shaman also, cleared content all up to 10 man Mimron in uld. He has no drakes though (yet :P). Warrior also up to 10 man Mim, 25 man Kolo.

Is there any member of Ordnance that can vouch for you?

Wailun if she's in a good mood D:, I used to talk warrior with Evia and hopefully Haniber. I see a couple good people there that I have had the pleasure of raiding with in BC such as Slippa, Milomoo, Manbear.

Previous Guilds

Covering WOTLK:

Penetrate: Awesome guild, most players are now in TME/Entropy/AVAST/GT or went to LP and quit when they disbanded. Was an officer over there with Dint, Maz and Caked. The guild got offered a merge with TME to join them as the foundation of their second raid group so we took over our best and..

TME: Penetrates best players went there and started group 2. We had Sarth 3d down within our first week with no outside help. Couple officers went to TME g1 while Me, Syiri, Imterra helped lead G2 to a god start. I left TME as i didn't like the way G2 was heading (as you can see now) and imterra got demoted leaving Syiri to lead g2 through it's best days. He is now in Entropy.

After TME I took a bit of a break but then decided to try my hand at forming my own guild. This has been a pretty stressful ride so far, and our current guild <Stoic> me and Slynx are pretty much giving up on, as we have a bulk of say 14 pro players and filling the last 10 is proving insanely difficult as we formed just aftr 3.1 dropped, so sad to say our current incoming of players seem to be the people that see WoW as a puggable game, and don't really have the loyalty, experience or maturity to raid at the level we would like and stay consistant at it.

Current/Previous Guild?:

Answered above.

Why did you leave?:

Also above. (Disbanding)

Is there someone from a previous guild we can contact if we require any more information?:

Syiri - Ex raid leader, current Entropy core raider. Pikaz - hunter class lead in Procrastinate. Slynx - We lead Stoic, will be going back to GT. Dint - Ex GM of Penetrate.

Why Us?

I didn't listen to Wailun after i left TME as she told me to apply with you guys then, and the last roller coaster of trying to form my own guild is getting very stressful. I just want to log on and be able to raid with a good team of people, in a nice environment with every body in the same mindset and all respecting eachother the same etc.. Your guild has a very nice roster, people i've played with in the past and just seem like a guild where I feel i would fit in.

What do you expect of us?

I just expect a solid guild of raiders with good leadership and players that I can learn from and grow with and have fun with while playing wow.

What assets will you bring to the guild?

My giant Totem.

Hopefully I can fit in with you guys!! Weather I be a sub/back up player for you, or given a slot that I can put my full dedication to either way i will try to bring the most to the guild.

I also have a meaty booty...

Can you commit to the guild raid schedule? (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday - 7.30 server time).

Yep, perfect times for me, being in NZ it lets me get in and chill before raiding etc. Friday/Saturdays off is great if i have work at a club. 4 Days is enough to keep me busy :)

Do you enjoy the aspects of hardcore raiding? Wiping, farming, listening, researching encounters etc.

I enjoy beating bosses with people that all put in the same effort as I did. Wiping isn't something I'd say I enjoy, so I do my most to prevent it. Though I DO enjoy being able to wipe and pay the repair bill (those that know me will probably know i used to be awful with gold and I'd blow it all on consumables or new enchants/re gemming then not be able to repair.. I now have an alchemy alt and 2 80s that both do dailies...) Also i'm always watching boss vids (usually when my GF takes over my account and i'm forced to watching the game on youtube) but yes. I enjoy hardcore raiding. The one thing about encounters i enjoy the most though is the fact that there is always going to be a strategy for YOU, I enjoy actually discussing the optimal way for your raid set up, your players, your oceanic pings, your current gear levels to down a boss. Yeh. Ill stop now.

What is your preferred raiding spec for the expansion? (A link to the talent build would be nice).

Ok ok you will probably be asking WHY DOES HE HAVE IMP GHOST WOLF?! It's pretty much the same reason Ensidia Enh shamans all spec for Imp HP, or other end-game raiding shamans also spec imp ghost dog - Due to the large amount of Ulduar encounters being out-door (or like sarth, maly etc), I put the extra 2 points into Ghost Wolf simply so I can move faster to my destination. Of course much like Cats Swiftness in BC it is a DPS gain due to the fact your going to have a longer activity time. Etc. Apart from that.. Upcoming shaman buffs include imp health, So when I eventually reach heavy raid dmg encounters including some hard-modes I probably won't have to spec into imp HP like I originally was planning to. Mm, Other then that, cookie cutter build.

What are your aspirations for 3.1?

ATM I just want to have fun with a nice team of people. As far as shaman goes I want to be pushing my class to it's limits. I'd love to get a good amount of hard-modes down as lately i've been feeling derived of the happiness i used to get when I saw a BC boss die.

Any additional comments or questions?

Yes, I play with General and Trade chat off these days.

Thanks for your application. We'd like to advise you have been successful, subject to the following conditions:

As a guild Ordnance has worked very hard to create a good public image. Part of this is a very strict policy on any involvement in public discussion when under the Ordnance guild tag.

Public discussion is classed as:

General, trade or any form of public in-game chat channel in which any member outside the guild or your immediate circle of friends can see your text.
Any form of community forums (tankspot, EJ, mmo-champion, etc..)
The official wow forums.

In general the rule of thumb is that if someone outside of guild can see messages conveyed by you then our policy applies.

What we require from all our guild members in these public realms is that they do not partake in any actions that will either harm our reputation as being a respectable guild, create conflict surrounding our guild or in general being us into disrepute. Remember that while you sport our guild tag you are representing us as a guild.

What we would like to focus on in particular is the wow forums. Due to the nature of the wow forums (unless the thread is constructive and not a flame war) we ask our members to not post on the wow forums. Trolling is something we really like to steer clear of and the wow forums is the place to attract just this.

In general we like to leave a light footprint, this includes announcing things like downing bosses or other positive achievements in either the wow forums or General Chat. The reason for this is that, in most cases, it attracts the wrong kind of attention and this is not something we like to encourage.

So before you accept our offer to join please make sure you are able to comply with the above. If you cannot comply with the above then this is not the place for you. If you break any of the above, during or beyond your trial period, you will have to find a new home.

Also, please be advised that at this stage we cannot guarantee you a raid slot as all raid positions are filled, however due to the normal cycle of things perseverance will pay off and if you prove to be worth your salt you will earn a raid slot eventually.

If you are fine with the above please send either myself or Rhyseh a tell in game.

Yeah i understand that and have been used to complying with such rules due to having certain guild tags in the past. Very achievable and i will stick to it 100%, plus... trolling just isn't fun any more :P. On a serious note, i've been refreshing this page all night and am logging over to polo as i type.

It was a 2 week ban for posting a guild recruit adertisment on Khaz'goroth realm forum.. I tend to post there from my ally toon and got them mixed up when reading Fm/Khaz at same time :( I didn't even know it was bannable actually.
